Poles and Shenita Val

Founders: President/Vice President

My name is Poles Val, from Lajeune, a locality in the city of Pignon, Haiti.  I am the co-founder of Channels of Mercy International (COMI ).  I graduated high school in June 2003 and from 2007 to 2011  I attended college for development science.  In 2010 the Lord called me to  work for World Vision Haiti , reuniting children with their parents after the 2010 earthquake.  From January 2012 to December 2015, I worked as the program director  and coordinator at a  local boarding school for deaf children, where I met my wife to be in 2013.  In 2019 Shenita and I got married and we now have 2 children. Because of our  love  for children in different communities and a concern for their spiritual and physical needs we decided to found COMI.
Jeremiah 29:11 is  my life verse "  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
If you let God take control of your life you will succeed in everything you do.  You are always ahead, you will never be behind,  u are always above and never below.

Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight Jesus loves the little children of the world. (1st song) Jesus Loves Me (2nd song) and 1st scripture (John 3:16) I learned as a child from neighborhood missionaries and VBS.

Hey, my name is Shenita Val, a native of Greenville, South Carolina USA. I came to know Christ as my Lord and Savior March 2010. The Lord immediately gave me a heart to seek and save the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Having a hunger to grow in discipleship through God’s word and fellowship with godly people I became a member of Kingdom Life Church in Simpsonville SC in 2013. The same year I was asked if I would like to be on our evangelism team and I immediately said Yes! Months later I was asked if I would like to lead the team, I immediately said yes! In 2013 KLC took our first mission trip to Lajeune Haiti to support and visit a local boarding school for deaf children. From the first visit I felt a strong desire to help with the great needs I saw and to do more ongoing missions to Haiti, so we have continued. Wanting to help people I decided to attend our local community college and graduated with an associates in Human Services, but with a continued hunger to learn more of God's word I decided to attend bible college  at Anderson University  and graduated there with a bachelors in Christian Studies. Afterward I  married my husband Poles Val a month later. We  knew before making our marriage commitment that God was going to use us to help our brothers and sisters in Haiti and abroad. We have been so blessed to have two children of our own . They have filled our hearts with so much joy and love. I currently serve as a biblical recovery counselor for Miracle Hill Ministries. It’s my prayer that God will use Channels of Mercy International to help many people come to the saving knowledge of His Son Jesus Christ through the teaching  His Word and our love toward them.

Miss Kimone Miller

Secretary

Hey, this is Kimone Miller, the Secretary of Channels of Mercy International. Below you will find my bio. Thanks!

Hello! I am Kimone Miller and am currently serving as the Secretary of Channels of Mercy International. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior in 2019 and live to glorify His name. I graduated from Greenville High School in 2025 and am currently attending Anderson University to receive my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

I have been on various Missions trips in that past as God has called me to the mission's field. In 2024 I went to Budapest, Hungary through the International Mission Board (IMB), to share the love of God with those who had not heard of His name and did not follow Him. We were able to serve the local church’s need in that area by reaching their lost brothers and sisters in the city. In 2024 I also served alongside a team in Clarkston, Georgia through North American Mission Board’s (NAMB) Send Relief. There, we served, aided, and shard the love of Christ with the refugees in that area as it stays the most diverse square mile in the US. Our focus, however, was to to help the Burmese Church with their Vacation Bible School. We were able to help foster children’s love for Jesus and share His good new with those who had not heard of it in fun and engaging ways. I have also had the immense honor of being able to sponsor a child in Haiti through Channels of Mercy International. This has been a true blessing to me and my sponsor child as we have seen God work wonders through both sides of the process.

I love serving Jesus in various capacities and continue to stand amazed at the beautiful work that the Lord is doing in the lives of so many. I am honored that He chose me to do His work in sharing His love to those in need.

Robert Dodd

Mission Director ( Uganda)

My name is Robert Dodd, and I’m currently serving as the Mission Director for Channels of Mercy International (COMI).
I graduated from the South Carolina public school system in June of 1987 from Chesnee high school with a diploma in general education.
After graduating high school, I performed numerous jobs ranging from supermarket stocker, to textiles manufacturing, and machinist setup operator. I have been blessed to work and serve the United States government for over thirty years.
In 1992, I joined the United States Army, where I served as a Fire Support Specialist and a Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corp,  Noncommissioned Officer. I was later selected for the Army basic parachutist and Special Forces Qualification courses.
While serving in the military my calling into the ministry grew once I became a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, which later led me to Hallmark Bible Institute to prepare for the pastorate at New Covenant Baptist church where I served as senior pastor for eight years.
Some, of the courses that fascinated me most, were Eschatology and Evangelism, where I learned to become a disciple and soul-winner for Christ.
I am currently a member of Kingdom Life Church serving on the “GO” ministry proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to nursing homes, schools “Good News Clubs”, churches, men’s ministry groups, Bible study fellowship (BSF) group leader, street evangelism, and abroad to several cities and countries.
In my off time, my passion for the outdoors causes me to pursue big and small game animals across several states. I  currently live in Simpsonville, SC, with my lovely wife Pearl and our ten dogs. I have two adult children.
